Incisional hernia.

Hi everyone. For anyone that has been following my thread, i have an answer . I have been having right sided pain and nausea. Thought it was return of diverticulitis, had to see surgeon as an emergency, and he thinks its a hernia at end of my iliostomy scar. Tests on friday . Then surgical repair if that's what it is. Has anyone had this? Would love to hear if you have.

hi i hadve incisional hernia twice .i noticed it was a bulge sticking out n it was painful & causing me leaks with stoma bag.. i had to wait for a year to repair hernia and my reversal op..2 months later bulge was sticking out on rightside and i noticed that the hernia has returned .. i have to wear support bandage which doesnt help to keep the bulge in .. im waiting to have my op but not until i have severe pain and when it distracts my sleep.. this couldve been prevented if only they provide us to wear a support around our waist from begining of op not when the bulge is out ..

My iliostomy was reversed so this is just the end of the scar. There is nothing to be seen its just very painful. Its lousy you have to wait. I want this done as soon as possible. Its making me feel sick.

I have a incisional hernia but the doctors won't fix it until I have my reversal, I'm really self conscious about the bulge, especially when my abdomen is bloated.

Oh gosh you poor thing. Its bad enough having the iliostomy. I was glad to have my reversal, and it went well I havent even got a bulge. Can't see anything, just painful. It's the nausea that bothers me though. And the urinary symptoms. Couldn't understand why it was happening. Then all of a sudden it was much worse. Be glad to get it fixed.

I just had a backup for three days and the pain kept me in bed with a heating pad and no appetite with the usual pain, nausea and chills and night sweats, it seems to affect urine flow, having to go a little every ten minutes but Budesonide and easily digested food seems to really help keep that at bay.

I've had chills and nausea as well. Is this a symptom? I'm new to this hernia stuff. Def had the urinary symptoms and hope this is the cause because they are distressing. All of these symptoms exc ept the pain ( that's there all the time) come and go, which I suppose make sense because i think hernias trap different things. Any advice welcomed. Thank you for the support.

Hi Rhiannon,
So glad to hear they determined what is wrong! Please keep us posted. Sometimes I have found that Peppermint or Chamomile Tea helps my nausea. I also hear (but haven't tried it) that Ginger Tea can be helpful.
Take Care of Yourself!

Thank you Rhonda. I'm glad to know why i was feeling so bad. I think I've had this for a while, its just much worse now. Hopefully that will explain my distressing urinary symptoms, that come and go. I hope you are doing ok. I'll check in with you soon. Rhiannon.

Thank you. Yes I'm relieved to finally find out what's happening. I live in Australia and i have private health cover so i have a wonderful surgeon. It's expensive, and we struggle to pay it, but with my health issues i don't want to do without it. So very lucky.
