I saw a different doc today who has given me antibiotics for a water infection. I asked advice about my sertraline, im on 100mg and have been for over four weeks, he said they should be working by now and i may need to try an increase or diff meds. Help!

Sertraline can take 8/12 weeks to start working properly, I'd say you're better to stick with it for longer at 100mg and not increase!!

Following my violent reaction to Sertraline, my doctor has switched me to Prozac - one of the few that I haven't had before! Hoping for an improvement soon.

Certainly as you had a violent reaction to Sertraline is was good for the doctor to change the med but many of us suffer side effects for the first 4-8 weeks and this is normal, it's something we need to go through until the meds kick in!

Ive read ev that iy should take 2-4 weeks.

True, it can have an effect after 2-4 weeks but reading many of the posts on here peeps persevere with the side effects for much longer!

A change might do you well, so see your original doc and see what the opinion is.

Good luck and hope you find your balance soon!  Sometimes it is trial and error before we find the perfect medication.

Hello Emma I was on 50mg for 8 weeks and been on 75 since just befre xmas. I dont want to increase again if I can help it. But I would say took around the 8 week mark to see an improvement, keep going on the 100mg for a little longer and see how you go x
