Increase in dose from 50mg to 100mg

Hi.  I have recently increased my dose - the GP advised that I initially take 50mg one day and 100mg the next and keep doing this for a month or so.  It's been a few days now and I feel worse if anything - low mood and very anxious.  I guess this is normal side effects from an increase in dose?

Sorry never heard of that. Normally you start of 50 to see how you tolerate it for about a month and then go up to 100 which is the standard dose. I've been on it twice and that is how I started it.

Also how long have you been on it in total. It doesn't really work until 2/3 weeks in so maybe it's too soon to see effects.

Hi.  Thanks for your reply.  I have been on 50mg for a couple of months and wasn't feeling any benefits so increased to 100mg, alternate days.  It's been less than a week on the increased dose so I guess it is too early to see any change yet?

Yes I'd say too early. ..I'm on week 8 50mg and all side effects have come back....so I bit the bullet and only took 25mg yesterday...made it to work today so that's a posive. Would you carry on with 25mg or alternate them like you.

    Thanks Donna 😐

    Hi ,

I started on 25mg for 7 days and the 50mg for 7days and now I'm on 100mg for now it's been almost 3 months I'm doing a lot better but I'm the beginning I had dry mouth and a little anxious but it goes away once you body is use to it . I still have my bad days but it's a lot better then how I was without it ....sure effects are horriable . I was suffering for 2 years without meds because I didn't believe in meds but I tried everything ..eating right ,exersing vitamins but I new it was a imbalance in the brain So I take them. I can't say its been easy it's not .my Will suffer but wait it out and if it didn't get better ask your docs for you to try something else . hope this helps ..God bless !
