Increase in dose, no improvement in mood at all?

Hi my doctor got me to increase my dose from 75mg to 112.5 mg ir about 8 weeks ago. Ive had no improvement in mood at all if anything feel more dumbed down, loss of 'feeling' so to speak. I felt that before on 112.5 and 'felt more' on 75mg, the reason my doctor got me to increase is because she believed it was depression, i dont agree with this at all as i am actually peri menopausal and believe the low mood, crying, anxiety is all hormonal related, i upped the dose out of desperation needing relief.

Would it be an idea to cut a quartet off a tablet to see if it could help me 'feel' again?

Any thoughts anyone??

Thanks.

    Hi Angela,

Sorry to here you are struggling. Is venlafaxine the first antidepressant you've tried? I don't think you should mess about with the dosage without speaking to your dr.

Thanks for your reply Clare, ive been on many anti depressants off and on over the years. I just feel this is more hormonal different from any other 'depression' i have went through. Have been thinking about reducing for a while but will hold off for now.
