Increased anxiety week 3 and 4

Hi all, I've been on cit 4 weeks now (GAD and depression). First week on 10 mg and 3 weeks on 20 mg. Had some minor side effects the first 2 weeks (some nausea and headaches). But starting week 3 and 4 now I have had really increased anxiety, especially in the mornings. It feels so bad in my stomach, it almost makes me cry and drives me crazy. So much fear that things will be like this forever. The anxiety drops a little in the evenings. To make things worse, I have had total insomnia for about 3 months now. My doctor told me the increased anxiety should only be present in the first 2 weeks and should then subside. But that's not what I felt. Has anyone had any similar experience ?

    hi

how are you feeling? I can relate to this so much. I don't feel like citalopram is working. x

hi collette, im in 10 weeks on 20 mg. The anxiety and body pains have been bad in the mornings, the evenings are better. Its slowly improving though. I would take 1 sometimes 2 mg of Lorazepam to calm down. Last week only 1 mg as it tends to get better. Compared to week 3 and 4 its definitely better now.

Hi Collette, my insomnia is gone, since the 3rd week on this med its back to relatively normal. After a couple of good days without much anxiety (even in the mornings) its there again. Drives me crazy. Did you have any good days at all, days that feel like youve returned to youre normal self??

      morning

I have found that 2 good days. then bad panic attack. then bad day and half then good day. I was having up and down days. I felt I didn't have much improvement so increased to 30mg. I have read that is how recovery is. I have been off work for ages. 8 weeks. hoping 30mg is the dose for me. it is really difficult. I have felt more like myself since increasing. only the odd time. xx
