Increased Citalopram from 20 mg to 30 mg 9 weeks ago & still not feeling that great

I've been on Citaloprim (10 mg) since 2013, after 12 months came off slowly as per doctors guidance & realised I needed to remain on it. Had to increase 3yrs later to 20 mg then last year after a big drama needed to up to 30 mg for 6 months. Then just recently needed to up again to 30 gm (another big drama), but it has been almost 10 weeks now & only beginning to notice very very slight improvement. Dr suggested using Mitrazolpine for a while as well, but wonder if I should just hold off for a little longer for improvement?

what ever you do dont add another antid.wait until the celexa settles.adding another one is going to put you thru the start up side effects again yuck.plus that med will make you gain weight.plus hard to come off.best regards

understood this would be only a while in order to get my seratonins to kick in ie connect as the citaloprim is not seeming to properly kick in, i dont have my zing back.

he said the 2 can be taken together. confused.

ps i have been on citaloprim constantly now since 2014, so how long before the increase truly kicks in? 10 weeks now.

Did this last year & the increase kicked in after 7 weeks approx. Could it take longer this time around?

have big party coming up which cant cancel with o/seas guests am so wanting to be good for this & thereafter. dramas (death of very close friend) never time well. life eh?

can be taking together but you probably going to have start ups from it .and the increase of the cit.is still too early .

ok thanks, so how many weeks you think this business takes for cit to really take off?

Wonder why doc prescribed the Mirtazapine? other than trying to appease me still complaining of not feeling ok yet & feeling flat. He said it would help break the cycle/circuit & get things moving I guess, was too tired to think about asking if I'd need to stay on the 2 of them! yuk.

I'm well beyond time of the month stuff, so that doesn't apply to me.

Am feeling better to day though.

but I know I need it have already proved this to myself in 2014.

I;m just waiting for the increase to work well.

Sorry to hear your message, good luck. Are you sure you need to come off it?
