Hello folks, hope your day is not too bad. I increased from 25mg of sertraline to 50mg three days ago. First 2days were OK ish. 3rd day and anxiety increased. Is this normal . Anybody know please?

Absolutely normal because your body is trying to adjust to the increase.

Thank you so much, reassuring answer. I thought perhaps going backwards and not working.

25g seemed to be working but stupidly I read online that it wasnt even a maintenence dose but 50mg is. Increased myself but dont know if I have done the right thing. Should I ride the side effects out or go back to 25mg? Hmm decisions. Wonder if I do alternate days between the 2. Desperate for some relief.

I was on 25 mg October 2016 till April 2018 ( when my baby was born ) and i was fine.

If worked for you no need to increase.

I also read a post that said 25mg wasnt a therapeutic dose, but my GP said thats not tthe case depends on all kinds of things. I gradually increased over a week and did what you thought of and took 1/2 tap am and 1/2 tap pm alternate days to make 37 mgs., but I was on 25mg for 8 weeks, in that period I tried to increase twice to the full 50 mg and the side effects were too bad, the gradual increase helped me, hope it works for you.

Yes, thats pretty normal for a lot of people. There is a lot of information on here of peoples experiences, its very individual. Many give up after a short time due to the side effects Good luck, have alook at other posts.
