Increased pain with predisolone reduction

Hello. I have just joined the group. I would like to hear from any

members that have had increased pain while reducing prednisolone. My ESR and CRP levels are normal and I am coming off prednisolone in a few days. It has been a slow reduction over 18

months. I am waiting to see rheumatologist.

Wow, it's been a long time since I've been on this site. Anyway I've had this condition since March of 2015. Finally saw a Rheumatologist In October that believed me and started me on 10 mgs of prednisone. My pain went away immediately. I have since been seeing him approximately every 3 months, and since my bloodwork has been good each time I see him , he cuts back on the prednisone. I am now down to 5 mgs a day. However, I don't know if I did something to cause occasional pain behind my right knee or if it's from cutting back on the pred. I have been doing gentle stretching type exercises and occasionally walk since I was used to exercise before this all started. My ESR has always been normal , my CRP was occasionally elevated before I found this Rheumatologist. Anyway, I'm sort of in the " same boat" as you. Although, I probably don't have as much pain, and right now the pain is minimal.  So I'm staying on 5 mgs. I hope for the best for you!

In the US , at least where I live, there are no support groups for this. In fact most people haven't heard of it and think it's some made up condition. So if you can find a support group, go for it.
