Increased protein/albumin in blood test

For some reason since December when I was first diagnosed with mono I have had high levels of protein and albumin in my blood. They wont go down for some reason, so my doctor is sending me to an oncologist who I see Wednesday to test me for multiple myeloma. Has anyone else had this issue? I am just a little scared.

    Hi Ashlie,

My protein level was slightly elevated during the worst of it. Not enough to worry the ER doctor who ordered the blood tests as nothing was ever mentioned to me about it. However, months later when I went to get a 2nd opinion from a 2nd Rheumatologist she mentioned the previous blood work. I'm 35 and she said it was highly unlikley someone of my age would have multiple myeloma but she did want to run additional tests. I opted not to because by that time it was already discovered I had EBV and I didn't feel like going down a rabbit hole and spending more money and causing myself more anxiety. AND the first time I had mono in college my protein level was also elevated so that was also reassuring to me.

Granted, I don't know how elevated yours was or how old you are, but this virus does crazy things to the body so I would try not to stress.

Hi Ashie, I have been reading your post and would like to ask you if you have ever experienced sinus pressure, facial pain, and a lot of pressure in your nose? I'm sorry for imposing but no one has responded to my post and I wanted to know if this is normal. Thanks in advance..
