Treated with sertraline for anxiety.
25mg x 10 days
50 mg x 6 weeks (bulk of side effects first week of increase)
75mg x 12 days all side effects settled but anxiety not calmed enough. Sleeping better but not at baseline yet.
Increased to 100mg this morning.
This dose is what my GP thinks I’ll stabilize at.
Hoping it doesn’t worsen my sleep increase the anxiety before it gets better.
Interested in other experiences/reassurance
Thanks a bunch!

Tammy, it will probably make you a little more anxious but do NOT worry! I just completed my 3rd week on my increase from 100mg to 150mg. I'm starting to feel a whole lot better and you will to. If need be, take some xanax to help with the increase of anxiety if you need it. It has definitely helped with my increase!
Best wishes, Shasmo

Hi Tammy
I was on 100mg and still suffering. I went up to 125 and I am still suffering. My anxiety is off the charts. I have read over and over to give it Time . It is a slow reacting medication. I am going to increase to 150 tonight . I dread the upset stomach, but I know 125 is not enough . Hang in there . I just found this site and I am so relieved to know I am not alone. Keep us posted. 😉

I tried Wellbutrin XL 150mg twice a day and I found it made my anxiety worse. I'm now on Buspar generic and it has done WONDERS for my anxiety. I'm finally starting to feel like myself..well about 70% but I've only been on it 3 weeks and it takes about 4-6 weeks for leveling out.

With anxiety the recommendation seems to be slow increasing increments.
I wish you well!

My dr put me on Trazodone . I was hesitant about taking it . I took my first 1/2 (25) mg this morning and I cannot believe how much it helped with my anxiety!!!

I’ve been taking Amitriptyline 10mg for sleep. No hangover. Tried Trazadone 25mg at bedtime but the dry mouth was terrible almost a choking feeling when waking up and I found it too sedating the next day.
My GP thinks once I stabilize on sertraline that sleep will restore and I may not need the amitriptyline.

I was feeling like giving up or that I was going INSANE! I was thinking that maybe I needed to go to a mental hospital if it didn't let up. It finally leveled out some and eased just yesterday.I woke up this morning with very little anxiety for the first time in months. Just hang in there! We are here for you!!

I went from taking 100 mg for about 15 years to 150mg 3 weeks ago. If they say that since it's already in your system, you won't have that many side effects, they were lying. I had every one of them listed, it seemed. Felt like starting all over. I still am having the bad mornings, but not as bad. I still take .25mg of alprazalam in the morning and afternoon if needed.

I increased last Wednesday to 100mg. The first few days I was nauseous and had a horrific headache.... Those subsided and now my anxiety has definitely increased, but not horrid. Also, decrease in appetite. So today is Day 8 for me..... Hoping soon everything settles back down!
Keep in touch! We can help each other through!

It’s only been 9 hrs but so far so good other than skittle fatigue and a dull headache.
Yes it’s so nice that we can coach one another along!!

Hi Tammy,
I moved to 100mg on Sunday. I had a terrible time going 25 to 50 to 75,so I was dreading it. Strangely though, I wouldn't say my anxiety has increased - in fact, I seem to have lost that very nasty heart pounding from previously. Still feel awful in the morning & still nowhere near being able to go back to work etc, but at least no worse for the move to 100. Let's all keep in touch to support each other!

My worst was the increase from 25 to 50. 50 to 75 wasn’t great but I blame that on having a few drinks because I was finally feeling a bit better but then had extreme nausea and hang over for 3 days. (Only had 2 beer over 5 hours).
About 16hrs after increasing to 100mgs (last night), the nausea came back, the insomnia, headache and that swirling adrenalin in my chest.
At 08am the chest seems to be settling and I’m not nauseous, dull headache and mild anxiety- so we’ll see how today goes.
Take care- I do enjoy the supporting one another

I can feel the palpations & feel more anxious today, so perhaps I've had a delay in the 100mg causing trouble. Still not as bad as the the other increases so far though.
