Increasing from 20mg to 40mg Propanalol

Hi have been taking 20mg propanalol up to three times a day for a while now for anxiety but feel it's not having much effect.  GP said I can increase my morning dose to 40mg - will I notice a difference in the increased dosage?

Hi there - my doctor recommended the same to me about a month ago due to an increase in work stress. Moving from 20mg to 40mg has made a big difference to my anxiety levels and, so far, I've not experienced any sort of additional side effects.

Hi, I was wondering what you noticed moving up to 40mg.  I'm currently at 20mg X 2 daily.

Depends on what you intend to use it for. But for me it made a significant difference to control the rush of anxiety/adreneline that could happen at any moment. It has made quite a big difference - and if I'm in a particularly stressful situation at work I wouldn't think twice about topping up with a 2x 10mg

I didn't notice any side effects, but everyone is different. I find my anxiety is worse in the morning so take at night before bed and it really helps keep me serene through the day. I'd definitely recommend taking the step up if you are feeling like you're not quite on top of anxiety issues. It's made a huge difference to my life.
