Increasing sertraline.

Hi guys,

I've been on sertraline for six days. I had a few sides effects that have now gone. Still having some anxiety so my doc wants to increase my dose from 50mg to 100mg. I'm worried about side effects. As I didn't have bad effects with 50mg will I be the same with 100mg? I work full time with the public and can't

Take time off work.

I'd really give it a few more weeks. Some anxiety can be beaten with good relaxation and breathing. Look at Anxiety Alliance on line. It will give you confidence. All the best. beat this yourself and not with the GP forcing you.

Not mine I've got GAD and it's been really bad. My life's been on hold because of it. Medication is the right way for me.

I'm sorry I meant relaxation etc as well as the meds. Your body needs to be relaxed an dyour head will follow suit.

I think having some anxiety on day 6 or so would be expected - I started with 50mg for depression and anxiety and whilst I felt the odd day of improvement initially, anxiety was worse for about 2 weeks or so before improving.

After 7 weeks at 50mg I've moved up to 100mg and haven't really seen returned or increased side effects yet, just beware that this anxiety you're feeling might just be side effects on the 50mg, it may be a few weeks before this passes.
