Infected Toenail Help!

I cut my big toenail too short, exposing the corner of the nail bed in the process. Its been red and puffy, tender & hot to the touch and very painful if knocked, whilst some pus has been leaking out. I’ve been bathing it 3 times a day in warm, salted water but nothing seems to be improving. I’ve tried to drain the infected skin with a sterilised pin but nothing happened, except more pain. I’ve also been dressing it and putting TCP/ Germolene on it. I don’t know what else to do & its going to be difficult to see a GP under the current Covid-19 situation whilst it’d be a waste of A&E resources.

    you can phone your gp and explain the situation, you probably will need some antibiotics and gps are still available to help patients. They can also do video calls in case they need to see your toe, just explain your situation to the receptionist and I am sure they can help you.

      I sent my GP some photos which worked well too.
