Hi julie I was given these a few weeks ago and they did not agree with me either then was given some others used for treatment of uti,s beginning with T and they made me very sick.

i would advise looking at the side effects.

Hi  Julie,  I haven't been prescribed Cefalexin, but had horrible reactions to 2 antibiotics called   METROZY ....   and   TRIMETHRO.....  sorry can't remember their very long names,  but I wrote these abbreviations in a file. But we're all different,  &  these 2  were  (are)  the 2  favourite antibiotics of the UTI  department of the hospital I see.  I self-catheterise 4 times per day now.

I took Amoxicillin or Nitrofurantoin  which stamp out the infection within 2 days, but after the course finished the infection returned within 2  to 5 days. HOWEVER,

I discovered  "HIPREX"   ( Methenamine Hippurate, 1g )  &  now get it on prescription;  it staves off infections for minimum 30 days and mostly longer.

No side effects for me & easy to swallow. Hospital suggested I take it permamently, acidic urine or not,  every day. What a relief. I can go out now.
