Infection possible cause for PVC/PAC's?

I have had PVC/PAC's and palpitations for many years, but mostly palpitations.  This last December I started getting a lot of the PVC/PAC's I was on a 48 hour monitor and I was having approximately 800 episodes an hour.  This went on for about two months.  In that time I had to have a root canal and was on antibiotics for about a month.  After being on the antibiotics for a week the PVC's started to to tapper off.  So now I'm wondering if there is a correlation between my tooth infections and the PVC's?  Has anyone else ever had this happen?

    Hi Alisa,

While I am unable to testify to personal experience re tooth infection and palps, there is an ongoing debate about oral health and heart disease, so I would speculate that there is possibly a connection between your tooth infection and recent palps.

Also, while on this subject, can anyone explain, in a nutshell, the difference between a PVC, a PAC, and a palpitation including symptoms of each? How does one determine which of these they are experiencing?

Well you can get infections in heart from tooth decay , some are very serious and can kill you , so maybe but would have thought it would have got worse and antibiotics you had for mouth not strong enough to have much impact on heart . Ask your doctor
