Inflamation found on colonoscopy

i had a colonoscopy yesterday and they said i have some inflamation at the bottom of my colo, they took biopsis but i was just wondering what this could mean? I was a bit out of it to ask her! I have been feeling generally unwell since before xmas and bad fatigue, i have had all the blood tests which came back normal, last month my eye was sore and the eye doctor said it was episcliritis. I have to see my gp in 3 weeks but was just a bit concerned about the inflamation, i have had a change of bowel habits, runs to constipated for 5 or 6 days but no blood. Thanks for reading this

Hi Sue. It is quite normal procedure to take biopsies during a colonoscopy. If inflammation is found it can possibly mean colitis or crohns disease. they can diagnose this by examining biopsies of tissue taken from your bowel, & then treat you with meds appropriately. quite normal, do not worry. its just to pinpoint any bowel conditions that need treatment. Your symptoms do sound alot like colitis ( i have it & am successfully controlled with meds). hope this helps xx
