Inflamed Esophogus

hi i have had a inflamed esophghus for 6 months i I went to hospital to have a checkup they put a camera down my throat and it was all clear my doctor seems to think it is due to acid reflux he has prescribed me some proton pumps anti-acid tablets which I have been taking there has been no significant improvement in my condition in fact it feels like sometimes my throat is healing and then it goes back to being inflamed again can somebody suggest something that I can take To heal the inflammation. Can please anyone suggest something I can take to Reduce the inflamation. Thank you

    From how long you are taking these meds?

      I take Deglycyrrhised licorice root extract. Maybe wont cure it but it will help settle your tummy and good for esophagus. Good luck.

    Hi

    I would say that your diet will be the most important thing to let it heal, I take the ppi every day and have done so for 2 years now but they only work if you stop eating/drinking the main trigger foods. You have to avoid alcohol, coffee, carbonated drinks, spicy foods, tomatoes and much more. Not a lot of fun but it does help.

      Hi, I am on long term Pantoprazole. Can I ask what dose you are taking? Best wishes

      Most common problem foods are:

      Alcohol

      Coffee

      Caffine

      Carbonated Drinks

      Some Fruit Juices

      Curries

      Spicy Foods

      Chocolate

      Cheese

      Some Dairy Products

      Plus many more.

    Hi Michael

    I take Esomeprazole 20mg so a low dose and if possible I only take it in the morning but sometimes I also take it late afternoon.
