Inflamed intestine wall - not absorbing iron & b12, will my body still absorb the pill?

Hey guys, might be a silly question but wanted to check. I’ve had a lot of GI issues lately, my body is not absorbing iron & b12 properly and I have been told this is caused by inflammation in my bowel. Currently on a waiting list for colonoscopy & gastroscopy for further info. My question is would my body still be able to absorb the contraceptive pill effectively if it cannot absorb other things including iron & b12?
