Influenza or hiv

I had flu symptoms like fever, night sweats, cough, chills, white toung, 1 ulcer below young and 1 side neck is little swollen for week. My influenza report came positive. All symptoms were cleared in 1 week. I was thinking it might be HIV and I did test in 15 days it was negative. Mono negative. But I need to wait until 90 days to get to know real status. But suddenly from 3 nights again I started to have night sweats and little fatigue. My doctor dosent think it’s HIV, but I read it’s possible to have influenza and hiv. And in hiv night sweats can come any time. How can suddenly night sweats are back? I know I don’t understand more than doctor but looking at symptoms I had 3 weeks back and now again night sweats and little fatigue dosen’t lead me to other conclusion. Did any one had flu symptoms back after 3 weeks? Is it possible?

It doesn't sound like flu. When you say neck swollen what do you mean. Swollen glands? You sure you don't have some type of infection? Hiv should be blood detected for sure. Did you do blood work and what did they test for. Flu is bad and can last symptoms for 12 days but it shouldn't come back. What exactly are ur symptoms?

Not sure what state you live in but a lot of ur symptoms also can be Lyme disease. Have you been tested for that? It is a special blood test. Lyme gives all symptoms of the flu. What influenza did you come up positive for A or B? The whole rash and neck thing is what is throwing me off for flu symptoms. Maybe have them run blood work for Lyme and also any sexually transmitted diseases. A lot of stds can give your symptoms also. Drink lots of fluids because if it's viral you want to flush it out as soon as possible. Also if you really want answers you go to an infectious disease doctor. They know all about different stuff. Regular MD will only check and test for common flu and basic where infectious disease Dr will check for many more things.

I am in Florida. I had both A and B influenza positive. I haven’t done test for Lyme yet. I did regular blood test after 7 days of possible exposure and all came fine. Also did std test they came negative. Did mononucleosis that came negative. Did hiv on day 7 and day 15 that came negative. Today is day 32 or something.
I see you are not talking on HIV, you ruling it out because any specific reason ? That’s the most common goes with my symptoms.

I am not ruling out anything but you said you came back negative for hiv. If you have hiv ur test should have been positive. A lot of infectious disease show same symptoms and you jump the gun. Hiv is not as popular as it was 20 years ago. Yes a lot of ur symptoms do point to hiv and flu and probably 10 other infection diseases. I am not a Dr but I spent the last 10 years researching diseases. Lyme can give you all flu symptoms and rash. That's a big one and simple to treat. If you find an infectious disease Dr near you and give them ur symptoms I promise you they will not stop until they get the answer. Flu will not last more then 14 days the most with just lingering fatage after its done. I never heard someone coming positive for a and b at the same time. I know if you get flu a you can also get flu b but at the same time?? Not sure if I'm buying that. You may have come up positive for both due to a different disease that has flu strains in it so it shows a positive for a and b flu. In my opinion if I were you I would look for a infectious disease Dr and go asap. If you want give me a zip near you and I can give you feedback on infectious Dr's near you. This is out of league for a MD you need a specialist. They will test for Lyme etc. Until they bet the answer. I promise you that. Keep me posted

I had HIV test after 15 days of possible exposure and I guess 90 days is one which we can trust.
As you mentioned Lyme, I saw symptoms the main one is bull eye rash. Which status for some days. I had small red bump rash when it occur it was like one time itchy and in next hour it was gone. I got total 4 of them till now. One on right side of stomach the other on left side. Two on right hand side elbow and all were gone in hour.
Currently symptoms are:
Sometime little chills
Little fatigued at end of day
Night sweats for 3 nights
Blurred long vision
White toung
4 small red bump rash gone in 1 hour
One side neck looks semicircle when I move my head complete backwards.

Vasculitis, lyme, mono diabetes. That's what I think of with ur symptoms. All these diseases can be checked for by infectious diseas dr. Go to Google and out in ur zip and put infectious disease Dr. Dr Barry baker I have rrad research he is in Miami area but there are others. You need not delay on this especially cause the blurred vision can cause perm damage. You don't want to wait on this. Trust me if it's been 32 days you need answers and possibly antivirals all depending on what this is. You need to go to a specialist and give them ur exact symptoms and they will take ur blood and order specific tests based on ur symptoms. Ur symptoms are not the flu, trust me on that. All because u became positive it's possible ur blood disease is making a flu false positive. I wish I could help you more but I can only tell you to get infection disease Dr asap

I just saw report again
It has
Influenza A 1: 128 titer > 1:8
Influenza B 1: 16 titer > 1:8
I wonder if it’s not common how my doctor didn’t say anything?

Don't forget ur Dr is a primary Dr he does not specialize in blood diseases. He only swabbed you and put it in a test for flu a and b. No matter what it is there areally antivirals to help. You just need the correct answer. Do you know of a partner you have been with that has HIV? You seemed convinced that i's what it is?? If you know anyone with HIV ask them if they had same symptoms or ask the sexual partners in the last two months if they have any stds. The blurry vision and rash is what is turning me off from the flu. Never heard flu with those symptoms. Plus flu 99 percent has respiratory issues and sounds like you have no coughing or mucus going on. Just soreness. Flu is huge with coughing that is why it is common for flu to go to pneumonia. Get the app as soon as possible

I think it’s that because the symptoms i had back 30 days they matched to it. My doctor did whole blood test. Including white cells , cholesterol sugar std all came fine but influenza according to her was positive. Until the report came I was fine all symptoms were gone.
Now suddenly Monday or Tuesday the night sweats started, then long vision is compromised then little fatigue and some time chills and those 4 rashes. Swollen neck and white toung is only symptoms which is there for 30 days.
I don’t know status of patterns of last 2 months. I also think I should talk to some one who has it, but not sure where to find and how to ask.
I asked my doctor she laughed and said it’s not that...
I only did two test in span of 15 days of possible exposure. But yah I asked some questions again this week on phone like can it be in influenza, how many days it will take to go and stuff she was really not sure about them though.
Thanks for talking to me, I really read the symptoms of disease you mentioned those all are really close related symptoms.
When I did put on google back 30 days that I am having night sweats Google took me to HIV. And day before that I had sex with partner which I had doubt about and that research took me to conclusion. Other thing I read is it takes 2-4 week to show symptoms. Don’t know I will try to go to specialist as suggested.

See how you do through the weekend. I don't like the rash and the sweats and chills. Chills usually means fevers and the sweats is when the fever breaks. When you get chills see if you have a fever. Plus white tongue. So points to me that it is something in the blood. Especially the rash means something in the blood. No matter what it is an infectious disease Dr will figure it out. Write down when it started symptoms, how many days, rash. The more info the Dr has the better they will know what blood test to test for. Start writing everything down, dates etc. Keep me posted. Good luck to you. Keep in mind this is only temporary until you get a diagnosis and get the correct meds. Then you will be better. Stay positive.
