Ingrown hair/wounds from shaving or herpes, help?

Hi,

I'm really worried that I may have herpes. I used a mirror for self-examination because the area felt a little inflamed. There were bumps and I presumed that it could be a possible outbreak of GH, which I've never had before. I went to the hospital because my private area was irritated and I have discomfort when I pee + tenderness in the lower abdomen area. I also had swollen lymph nodes in the groin area which is one of the symptoms of genital herpes that I read of. They ran tests and x-rays at the hospital as well as a pelvic examination. When I got the x-ray and urine sample back, I was told that I had an ectopic kidney and severe bladder infection. When doing the pelvic examination, the doctor didn't recognize it as herpes right away and asked me if I get ingrown hairs or pimples there from time to time. I asked him if it were herpes and he said that it is a possibility, but he could not really tell and I needed an actual test to be sure. Now that I am examining it again, I noticed that there is no discoloration or discharge coming from the wound but it is very painful. It's more reddish, inflamed looking than anything and it's not so much a bump anymore. There were other smaller bumps that I noticed yesterday but they aren't inflamed anymore and have went down somewhat. My partner is clean and I had no reason to believe that I would have an STD, but I was told that they could have it and not even know. I was just wondering if this sounds like I could possibly have the STD, because I want to mentally prepare myself before I follow up with my primary care physician to get officially tested. I'm having really bad anxiety about it.

It's below my vaginal opening, kind of on the skin that separates the vagina and the anus. The smaller ones that have healed since yesterday and aren't so irritated now are on the outside of my labia on my very inner thigh. He didn't do a culture because they do not test for that there and told me I would have to go to primary doctor to get one. He said it looked like ingrown hairs or pimples. He did not say herpes until I asked if it could possibly be an STD in which he said that it is possible.

So there on your inner thigh did they itch or burn were they filled ?

They itched and they didn't necessarily burn but they would sting the more friction I put on them. They weren't filled when I noticed them yesterday, but I'm not sure if that's because I was scratching them beforehand and they could have burst. They kind of resemble wounds and they're not so swollen today.

They are not very close together and don't look like canker sores at all.

Well herpes 2 stays dormant for years! And then bam! Hello bumps...ugh..I thought mine was a rash, the dermatologist did a sample culture and sure nuff..herpes. Now I take valtrex daily and idk why but outbreaks are every week..mentally I'm just done, I don't wanna live like this.but it's my cross for being stupid I guess..my advice is don't stress it, eat a lot of veggies, vitimanC, Lysine, and zinc...I wish you well...and you can text me anytime

I was tested for it in December 2015 and the results were negative. But I was assaulted in January and never went to the doctor for it, I'm not sure if I contracted it then or from my recent partner. It still sucks and I'm sorry to hear that.

Hi....so first of all......you should not take anyone advice about your symptons.   The most important advice and result should come from a test result when being tested for STD or any Virus!!!  And you should be running at the Doctor a.s.a.p!!  Do not take irritations to lightly...this is a serious issue!!!  It is highly contagious!!!!  Can not have sex without a condom...and definitely no oral sex anymore from either partner!!!  But moving forward...when a person contracted STD ....it does not go away....it start off very itchy in and or around the genital area and or the anal area......and  continues to form blisters ....then the wounds of the blisters starts to open up like as if the skin were cut with a blade that you can see.  It becomes painful that you can not walk...you end up limping.  The only way STD can be cleared up is by taking medication for it such as Valtrex.....and that means it is only going to control the sores not cure it......there is no cure for STD.....you can just contol the outbreak.  You just need to get a test done...act on it quicly....all the best.
