I am a female and I took over 6 weeks and luckily my boss paid me for all of that! But then the race started, the fibromyalgia! I was never in pain till 1 week after the surgery, kept trying to tell them something happened but they wouldn't listen. Just talk to your doctors a lot about the whole situation!!

Howard, have you had your surgery yet?

I had mine under local (I couldn't face the after effects of a general!) I had significant bruising afterwards and plenty of discomfort but there again I may be a wus?  The bruising was very alarming as it made me look as if I was wearing a pair of black Speedos!! I am a year past now and although out of pain I still have a fair bit of discomfort which varies in degree of pain or just irritation.  There is some testicular pain occasionally and numbness in the groin.

Other than that, it's been great to be active again!  Just don't think you can lift again like you used too.

      hI, RIichard,

I was on the list for January but as day surgery beds were taken up by the overflow from A&E I've been told there is a big back log ( so it looks like it has been put off for a while)

      kind regards

      Howard.

Hi Richard, I haven't been diagnosed yet, I see my doctor in a couple of days though reading these pages I'm fairly sure I have an inguinal. My problem is I can't really feel it. Should I be able to? I have pain in exactly the right place as well as my testicles, this comes and goes, as well as some pain in my right thigh. To be honest I hope it is at least it won't be something more sinister. I do quite a bit of lifting weights and I need to get this sorted as I haven't been able to get to the gym. Do my symptoms sound like a hernia to you!
