Inguinal hernia & Diverticolous

Posted , 2 users are following.

Hi,

I am 54 years of age and about 2 years a go I was diagnosed with a left inguinal hernia that the surgeon now says needs surgery.

I was also diagnosed with sigmoid diverticulitis on 2013 with flare ups about every 18 months.

May the sigmoid diverticulosis be a contraindication for inguinal hernia surgery?

Is there someone else in the same situation as myself?

Thanks

    Hi Soulfly,

Unless you don't actually have a hernia, I wouldn't think it was a contraindication for the hernia surgery, but I'm not medically trained, so I wouldn't know for sure.

I'd suggest seeing a hernia specialist rather than a general surgeon for clarification, if you haven't already.

I'll send you a private message with some more info.
