Initial herpes outbreak.

My outbreak was almost 3 months after handjob, about 23 days after newest partner. Would your guess be from handjob or newest partner. Previous partner was 3 months pregnant handjob, latest partner was 3 months post handjob.

Did you have any fatigue, fever, unwell feeling after handjob ?between virus infection and first ob, there is usually something making you feeling unwell . Anything ?

No I never noticed anything until first outbreak. At first outbreak I had fever and all those things. Swollen nodes in neck cold chills, all the flu like stuff.

Frank, I cant tell from your answers if you ve got the virus from hj or from your gurlfriend. It is unimportant now. I suffered the same symtoms like you. I even got psychosis later and self suspected I have hiv . So after 3 months if testing with hiv negative I still couldnt convince myself. I tested at 6 months and 18 months again . Then I believe my tests that I really do not have hiv . I also tested herpes 1 and 2 many times. Blood test herpes 1 pos and 2 neg. Swab tests both neg.

Then everything is back to normal. My life is back to normal.

I feel I've always been depressed and have started to try to fix that as this diagnosis kicked depression into overdrive. I feel somewhat better I guess but haven't even thought about day or anything because of this. Feel dirty, unwanted, and just miserable that this is the position I'm in.

Frank, this feeling of being dirty and unwanted will go away gradually after 18 months.

Are you infected with hsv 1 or 2 or both ?

Did you see any social worker or psychiatrist ?

Have you got clearance on hiv or you are still thinking about it ?

if you have HSV-2 i think it is way more likely you got this from your girlfriend... the hj i could see giving you HSV-1 genitally (maybe) and only if the girl used her saliva to lubricate. did you ask your gf to get tested?

Yeah it is more likely that you ended up getting hsv2 through you’re gf or a prior physical sexual encounter rather than a handjob. Like r61311 states it would be highly unlikely that you got hsv2 from a handjob but rather hsv1 if she used her mouth or possibly some amount of saliva.

it is very important for you to not be alone during these hard times.  Believe me I found out a week ago I have herpes and I wanted to die.  why lie to you and tell you otherwise.  This is the truth.  But you must understand that you need to grief, it feels like a little part of you died, and you need to cry and grief the pain.  It is not easy, I know.  Please reach out if you need any support.

Frank, herpes 1 or 2 will improve as time goes by. I have herpes 1 but still gets red patches at my penis head in the winter after 18 months. But I am used to it. I dont care anymore. I found that if I eat too much nuts it will trigger. So eat less nuts, eat more veg, cheese . They are anti herpes.

Go see a psychiatrist to help you with managing the obsessive thoughts and depressive disorder. There is no need to die because of herpes. After a year or so, you will be grateful that you didnt die because of just one small virus that seems to be taking your whole life now. The symptoms will become less and less when your body gets used to the virus it also developed immunity defense against outbreaks
