Hello craig...did you have this injection before having hip replacement surgery?  I had one.  They put me under and injected me in groin area. Wasn't bad at all. Was pain free but a short time. This was prior to hip replacement surgery.  So not sure when you had yours.  So now you're hurting?  Could be they hit a tendon or nerve. Where did they inject you?   Hugs 🤗  Linda.

I alright had hip replacement surgery on my right side  in February. My left hip is where I had my injection, because it's hurting now. Injection was in my gorin area .

Hi Craig, I have had around four to five injections into the front of the groin under local anaesthetic with live imaging, and have had varying degrees of success / pain relief.  My consultant told me they normally hope to give you a couple of months relief, but that sometimes it just does very little for you, and they know that can happen. Sometimes the full effect isn't felt straight away and that it may take gradual effect. Maybe the initial pain relief you had was because they gave you local at the same time you were under? I understand that you can't have them too often, but I'm sure your doctor would help you achieve adequate pain control if you are struggling? I do hope you feel better soon

Prior to the replacement, my first shot lasted 3 months. Second shot lasted 3 days. Knew it was timeĀ

Craig, I held of needing THR for a few years with cortisone shots. I couldn't have them more than every three months. At first it was just one hip then later on both hips were treated. The last time I had them they did not last long at all and it was time for surgery. Sometimes I received immediate pain relief, but they can take a week to take effect. The shot also contains a pain medication, but you still might be a little achy.
