Hi Guys. Im a 66 year old male. I have a enlarged prostate and treat it with saw palmetto. I also have erection problems and a fluctuating libido. I have been thinking about using Finasteride 1% for hair loss. I read all the side effects which include low libido and inability to orgasm. I was wondering if I were to take the finasteride and have these side effects would injection shot for erection work even if Im not in the mood. Viagra gives me bad headaches and only works a small amount of the time. I hope you can make sense of what I am posting. I know I seem to contradict myself. I quess to put it simple would it be possible to have intercourse after giving a penis injection even if I have a very low desire. Thank You. Replys welcome

My understanding is that ED injection, unlike Viagra, work irrespective of desire. You really want to see an ED specialist who will walk you through it and help find the right dose. Have you had your testosterone measured? That could be causing your low desire and can be treated although different doctors have different takes on this.

You would think Testosterone Replacement Therapy increase prostate growth.

I've been on finasteride for almost 2 years. It's starting to take it a toll on my sex life. I've got to start seriously considering having a BPH procedure done.

      Hi Uncle,

Yes, I would think the potential of increased prostate growth would be a consideration with replacement testosterone therapy although personally not very studied up on that.

Why don't you just ditch the finasteride and/or try daily 5mg Cialis. Has it helped a lot with your bph? If it hasn't, not sure if you can expect much more after 2 years. Then there's always the self cath option or one of the newer procedures if you want to be an early adapter.

I take daily cialis now and I think finasteride has helped tremendously with BPH. Lately the firnasteride is killing erections. Odd thing is I lost 40 lbs over the Summer. You'd think erections would improve.

Pripecia is not worth the side effects, I killed my erections and labedo. Go bald, get a tan, grow some facial hair and you will be fine. For labedo, look into testosterone replacment therapy and for ED look into GAINSwave. I have done both and you will be amazed with the results . Good luck

How many Gaines wave treatments have you had? Do you know anyone else that has had it done? Their results? There really aren't many providers in my area. Usually if something is really effective you can find providers easily. Did you look into PRP injections also?

Gainswave works and works well. I had 4 tratments and the results are long lasting. Any doctor can do the shots however the gainswaive device has to be purchased with a large investment making it no so available by every doctor. My doctor was Dr. Eye in Jacksoville FL. The soundwave removes plaque buildup in the penis blood vestles and brings back hard errections and sensitivity. I will have this done every two years for the rest of my sexually active life. So very much worth the investment!

PRP is platelet rich plasma. Its supposed to be regenerative for all sorts of things including your penis. Supposed to restore blood flow. No sure if its quackery or not. Only certain docs do it.

Been looking into gainswave. I see a lot of hype from providers of gainswave but not much in reviews or people saying its the best thing since sliced bread.

I'm not an expert, but as we are all so individual, don't you just have to try it and see?

I am on an herbal regimen that helps with urination and erection. Pygeum, stinging nettle, and pumpkin seed oil 3 times per day. L-arginine 6 g per day. Red korean ginseng 6g per day. I'm also taking a brand name herbal supplement which I can't name by rules of the forum, but I take one dose every three days. Viagra had stopped working for me. My ED is not an issue as long as I maintain the regimen. Three days off, and its back.

I'm pretty sure you can name any supplement you want as long as you don't provide a link to where to buy, for example stinging nette and pumpkin seed oil are supplements and your post got through.
