Injections before op what's it about ?

i phoned the hospital today to see where about on list I am for op as been in lot of pain, the lady said oh yes I have you booked in for tomorrow for injection, I was shocked as no letter she said my op will be in few months. Does anyone know what these injections are? The doctor wrote down on a piece of paper this ( down regulate ovaries with LHRH analogue + HRT add back ) any ideas ?

Hi, I can't be certain but I think LHRH is to do with hormones, testosterone

If memory serves, again I am not certain. Sorry.

I had zoladex injections whilst I waited for hysterectomy and ovaries to be removed due to severe endo. Basically it puts you into menopause by stopping ovaries and if symptoms are severe they give you small doses of hrt to alleviate but not enough for endo to grow. You have no periods whilst on. Some people rave about it. I only had one injection (it's a slow release pellet that lasts a month) but I reacted badly with migraines so they didn't repeat but I didn't have period for 11 weeks just on one so it's quite potent!! There is another one that does the same thing but that injection name escapes me but I'll post if I remember. Good luck
