Insomnia - any ideas to induce sleep?

Posted , 6 users are following.

I have tried all sorts of remedies without success. The sleeping tablets given to me by the consultant resulted in vivid nightmares. I never manage more than 2 hours before waking with pains in various parts, from cramps in the feet to chronic hip and shoulder pain. I seem to have to resort to sleeping semi upright. Memory foam mattress and pillows help to a certain degree but I long for more than 2 hours sleep. Any ideas?

You are so right Christine - the Kindle is my life saver. Particularly because I can increase the print size or listen to audio if my eyes are bad. Sometimes my eyes don't work properly - just another problem from dear fibro - the condition that just keeps giving!

Certainly couldn't do without my Kindle - would make an interesting discussion to find out what other items we could not do without.   I have to say I love my slow cooker too - just throw everything in turn it on and hours later dinner is ready. One of my best labour saving devices.

Gizmo - we must be twins separated at birth - I have exactly the same problems. difficult to find a bit that doesn't hurt - still got my sense of humour though.  Perhaps we should start a joke telling thread.
