Insomnia because of Vertigo

Any one experiences insomnia because of Vertigo? Tired, fatigue but cannot sleep? I am using Stilnox then Stilnox CR at the moment.

    I am up at the moment (2am) because I have insomnia. Don't know if I ever thought about it being from Vertigo. Who knows with this horrible thing though!!

    Hi Jim I had the same problems I think it was because my body felt like it was swaying I couldn't get my mind off of that feeling so could not shut down is that how you feel of course then I would get anxious and then could not sleep awful feelings it is better now but still don't get a lot of sleep but more good luck to you patient it will get better

    Hi jimmy im the same il go to sleep only to be woke up by feeling giddy i feel for you you are not on your own believe me . I am recieving help from a healer and it is helping .

      Wouldn't you mind telling me what healing helped you. I suffer from insomnia what caused mild bppv. Tried acupuncture session, made worse, actually even electroacupuncture for insomnia triggered bppv.

    I too have the same issue though I have resorted to taking 1/2 Immovane at night which helps 

    When this all began in Jan , I was so so tired but if I went to lay down , after a time I would feel almost a heat coursing through and would get very panicky and that would be that for me ....you do need a lot of rest and I have found that getting lots of fresh air helps ( hard to do here cause its been such a miseraable winter ) .I do keep to my usual bedtime and try to lay down in the afternoon as well ...easy for me as I am retired and have no children at home ....

    I tell myself that taking something for sleep is not a big deal....just wish for the day when I can jump out of bed in the morning and know that I have returned ! Am better for sure but just not quite there yet ...Good Luck and know you are not alone !

      My GP just gave me the same one you take at 2mg per tablet, I am hesitated if I need it now because I don't want to give up Stilnox tonight, ok, I am afraid of changing medicine.

      Sorry I am wrong, I got diazepam 2mg today, Stilnox is similar to your Imovane.

    Diazepam will help you to realx ..it is the same as the Ativan I was prescribed for anxiety ( totally new to me with this disease ) Over the longer term they can be habit forming and personally I don,t like the " shakes " that I seem to wake up with even though Ativan is milder and I was only prescribed 0.5 mg ...I do a lot of deep breathing and "grounding " to try to relax and my vestibular therapist uses accupuncture which has helped a lot
