Insomnia Clonezapam + Remmeron

Hi Everyone, Hope that you are doing well. I just want some expert opinion about remeron and clonezapam. I was using clonezapam previously for almost 2 years and was taking it 2,3 times a week mostly on weekends with 1mg dosage.(the medicine didn't give me more than 6 hours of sleep) I was fine at that time and quite satisfied because at least 2 or 3 times in a week i have my natural sleep.

But from last sixth months i am very upset regarding my sleep pattern. My natutral sleep was gone and even clonzepam is not working( As it was working before). I consulted one doctor, initially he given me seroquel i tried it for almost 1 month but it was also not worth it.. Then he shifted me to Remmeron 15 mg one dose at night time, with an SSRI (Xeroxat, i didn't used it because only two days of usage starts giving me side effects). But i continued to use Remmeron.

Remmeron is quite better but when i take it my body getting jerks from time to time like for every after 15 minutes i got jerk(my wife really afraid of me these days ).Some days in a week (mostly on weekends) i got some uninterrputed sleep for 5,6 hours. but some days i won't(May be 2,3 hours of sleep). My job is badly effected. In the lunch break i take a nap of 1 hour just to make sure that my rest of day goes well. I am thinking of taking clonezepam 1mg with remmeron 15mg before bed just to give it a shot. Please guide me should i do it? or any other option. I don't want to take SSRI as the have adverse side effects( for me Sexual Dysfunctino is more often). Any single word of help will be appreciated. Thanks

So sorry to hear about your sleep problems, that must be very upsetting. Myoclonus (muscle jerks) is indeed a side-effect of Remeron. Clonazepam might help to reduce this, but please don't take the two together without first consulting your doctor, as they can interact and cause all kinds of other problems.

    Hi abbaselahi1

I was  taking zoldipem tartrate12.5mg combo with all different SSRIs. I also stop taking SSRIs those side efects I could not stand it anymore. I gave me at least 4, 5 hour sleep woth vivid dream and getting tired when I woke up. My anxiety and depression are a bit under control but insomnia isn't getting better a lot. some night I could sleep  with valium 5 mg, with melotonin but dreams are always there and I could not feel enough sleep, way far to feel natural sleep. According to sleeping pills, they aren't recommanded for long term use. I aslo was using on anf off about 6 months already. I am so worry about being a victim of these side effects. But you aren't alone, there are people like us and I am also seeking any advices to alternatives and slowly tailing off these sleepng pills. Thanks

      Dear sam,

I am facing this issue from last 10+ years now. I am also taking melatonin 6mg along with remmeron 15mg but not getting that much good sleep. Another problem is that i used to go to washroom for urine almost after every 3 or 4 hours. Sometimes if luckily got good sleep then might be 5 hours top. I can understand your feelings too but now i am getting fade up coping with this never ending situation. Any how i have not lose hope. but drugs are not the ultimate weapon to fight insomnia. Also its the matter of combination of drugs that suit's any person. Let me know if you have any thing in future... thanks.

Guys i also want to know that is there any body who have been cured from insomnia? I don't want to be a miserable hopeless freak because i have insomnia more than 10+ years. The doctor told me that i am a patient of Depression and thus insomnia is the outcome. The other thing is from last sixth months its taken the worse form i.e. without a medicine i am not able to sleep on my own for even 1 hour. The only life style changing from last 6 months is going to Gym and i believe that is not the cause of this. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
