Insomnia Every Other Night

Help! I've had insomnia off and on for years, but for the past month, I'd developed a pattern where I

will only sleep every-other-night. By this, I mean that will pull and all-nighter, and then sleep 12 hours the next night. This parttern has remain unchanged for about 4 weeks now.

I have never taken sleeping pills because they terrify me, and do not like the side effects of over-the-counter drugs. Does anyone else have this problem.

Maybe set your alarm for 8 hours of sleep. Do some exercises in evening. Read a little b4 bed. Thats my prob. I sleep too long when i play catch up but God ten hours of sleep feels so good!! Stayaway from caffeine and chocolate. Good luck. Try melatonin too.

I'm 44 and have been developing this pattern since I've had children. When they were younger I got out of my sleep routine due to getting up at all hours. Now I'm doing the every second night thing. I've tried slow release melatonin but this only works on my exhausted nights, after I've had no sleep the night before!

I suspect more exercise may help, but I find that sometimes the days I exercise I am even more buzzed at night and therefore cannot sleep. I think I will try giving up caffeine next. I'll post on my progress!

Try drinking a glass of hot adult formula milk 1 hour before sleep. It might help. If you could drink 2 glasses a day but space it out or you end up going to the toilet middle of the night.

Google how digital devices have blue light which disrupt sleep. Try install apps like twilight to switch your phone to block blue light and see if it helps. You could also try not to look at digital devices 1 to 2 hours before bed. It does disrupt your sleep. You might want to try getting a pair of block blue light glasses and wear it few hours before sleep. It will help.

Soak your feet in a small basin before bed in slightly hot water. It helps too.

Magnesium oil sleep spray also helps. Lack of Vitamin D can also affect sleep. You can try taking liquid vitamin D every morning but not afternoon or night as it will keep you awake.
