Insomnia from psych med withdrawal, advice about sleep time needed

Posted , 2 users are following.

Hi,

I have been suffering insomnia from psych med withdrawal for a while now, however it is improving,

I aim to sleep at 9pm but usually wake quite a few times in the night and when I wake after 2am I usually find it very hard to get back to sleep, a lot of time I get no more sleep after this time,

I am using blackout curtains and blue light blocking glasses in the evening and taking a epsom salt bath every night,

Any advice on whether sleeping at 9pm is the right time? my theory is that sleeping this early gives me extra time in bed to try and get enough hours as I have to be up at around 6am with the kids,

Any advice welcome

Thanks

    Hi James,

Sorry to hear you’re struggling with your sleep. I too suffer but over the last 6 months I have found going to bed around 10 -10.30 (as I to am

Up around 6) increases my sleep drive. I still wake in the night once or twice but that’s better than every 1 1/2 hours. Google Sleep Restriction Therapy.  Hope things improve.
