Insomnia is back

Hello there everyone,

I'm a female that attends art college and I've been dealing with insomnia on and off ever since my junior year of college. Near the end of my junior year, the insomnia stopped until once it got to the time i began my senior year and when i was home for christmas break in 2018 i didnt sleep for almost a week. After that time, i was sleeping well up to this month (june 2019). Ever since the last weekend i havent been able to sleep very well or at all. But its mainly because i'm very energetic and i watch movies that make me laugh my tail off...lol or i listen to music and i'm active late at night. Has anyone had the experience of insomnia and how did it start? I hope i'm not alone in this.

Hi there. I am currently going through the same thing. If you've ever read any of my posts on here before, i go through 'bouts' of insomnia mainly caused by menopause for me. They come & go. Well, it's back but for me, i've just learned to accept it. Whilst this is not easy to do, i find that by becoming anxious about it just makes it a whole lot worse as i know it will pass. I either fall asleep pretty quickly but am awake 2hrs later & then i fight to get back to sleep or i literally can't sleep till about 5am & then only sleep for 2 & half hrs. Or i get what they call sleep state misperception. This is where you think you have'nt slept at all but you really have. Try to learn to relax abit as bedtime approaches &!hopefully your sleep will go back to normal. & yes, millions of people around the world suffer insomnia. It is actually one of the most common complaints doctors see but how you go forward with the problem is what counts. You will be fine.

Hi! You really need to relax more at night. Don't do anything lively, active or listen to loud music and active movies. You can attend a relaxation and meditation class. They are helpful. Visit you Dr, if it's got hard for you.
