Insomnia is messing me up in all accounts

The last almost 3 years i have been suffering from anxiety disorder that leads me to insomnia. I have been better but the last 2 months i am worst than i was when i started.
I am on meds (seroquel and stilnox) for the last week. One night if they do not work i go crazy.
Sky high stress, depressed, bad thoughts, stomach like a knot.
Then i sleep and in the afternoon i still get stressed if i do not sleep. And here we are in the rollercoaster.
I just want to take a pill and sleep all day so i will not think.
Why do this to myself.
PLS HELP. HELP ME GET OUT OF THIS LOOP.

Sorry to sound harsh Marioscy, but you and I have had a lot of correspondence on this one in other threads, and I think you've summed up the problem perfectly in your penultimate sentence: "Why do this to myself". Why indeed?
It's good that you're able to recognise you're doing it to yourself. This is always the first step towards getting out of any self-created loop.
Now you need to start working through the reasons for this all-consuming anxiety. This will help far more than the pills you're taking - though you mustn't stop taking seroquel abruptly.
A good CBT therapist would be best placed to guide you through the process of dealing with your anxiety, though it will be necessary to continue the seroquel initially.
Best wishes,
Lily

Its my low self esteem. And i think to much. Is like i do not have control over me. While before i did now no.
But i cant get of the loop. And this creates me more stress and so on.
I have a very good one CBT therapist. With her we where progressing but now i am back to step 0.
Why i have to continue seroquel?? I do not have schizofrenia or bipolar or have been taking it long. Only 4 days
What about stilnox

Seroquel is an antidepressant, and drugs of this class should always be tapered very slowly, as they can cause severe withdrawal effects. It probably wouldn't do any harm to stop if you've really only been on it for four days, but I still think it would be a good idea to discuss it with your doctor first. But whatever you do, don't keep stopping and starting.
Alternatively, you might want to consider staying on it for a while, maybe just reducing the dose a little. I don't normally like the idea of anyone being on antidepressants, but in your case it might help to reinforce the excellent therapy you're getting. But do remember that if you stay on it for more than about two weeks, you'll need to taper the dose to get off it. However, if you keep the dose as low as possible, this won't be a lengthy process.
Discontinuing Stilnox isn't dangerous, but unfortunately stopping any sleeping medication that you've been taking regularly will cause rebound insomnia for a while. This also applies to OTC antihistamines.
You say you were doing well with your CBT therapist but now are "back to zero". But that's perfectly normal when dealing with both anxiety and insomnia! That's how it goes: two steps forward, one step back. But overall, you'll notice a very gradual improvement if you stay with it. CBT isn't a magic bullet, it's a long process that requires a lot of hard work from the patient. You were clearly working hard at the outset, and getting results. Now you need to pick yourself up and start again. Overcoming anxiety with CBT is a bit like treating obesity with dieting. All slimmers go through periods of despair when they've been on an eating binge and put on 2kg overnight. But the wise ones just go straight back to their efforts. It's the same for you.

I know how you feel. And I also know you don't really believe in that magical pill. There are plenty of pills around that will make you feel better for a few hours, days, weeks but sadly they all stop working after a while, and you end up taking ever higher doses. Then they don't work at all, and you have to move on to other kinds of medication - the kind you can get on the dark web. Don't get on the slippery slope.
