Insomnia with zoloft

Posted , 5 users are following.

I have been on zolof since August 10th . I was on 25mg for a week then they bumped it up to 50mg . Anybody else notice you get severe insomia ? My doctor bumped it down to 25 mg , he also gave me clonazepam for sleep and I'm still not sleeping. I love this medication because it actually works but I am ready to give up because I need sleep plus I also noticed I get restless legs the odd night . sad

I was on Sertraline before but it makes me sleep . Do you take clonazepam every night ?

Yes I take the clonazepam every night but I'm going to start weaning off it . I find it doesn't do anything .

That’s good. As benzodiazepines can be very addicted. Wean it off slowly would lessen the withdrawal symptoms . I am on diazapam as well on a daily basis and I am in the process of weaning it off too. Take care !!

I have been on it for 4 days and have insomnia take Trazodone which helps . How long does it take to kick in

I found that the zolof kicked in for me within two weeks . The anxiety stopped and I had severe panic attacks. I'm going to ask for trazodone. He gave me zoplicone for sleeping and that just made me body stoned. Then you feel like crap the next day .

The doctor called it rebound insomia . I actually do go to bed the same time every night , I toss and turn the whole entire night and fall asleep around 6 am then I will get sleepy in the afternoon so I will take a nap , I even tried skipping the nap thinking that was why I was up all night but even when I skipped the nap I was still up .

Rebound Insomnia you say ? Hmm .. my Psychiatrist couldnt figure why i have Insomnia after i returned to the pills because i never suffered from Insomnia , i was able to sleep 15 hours easily and fall asleep VERY easily...

Anyway try to wake up early and go to sleep late so you'll have something like 6 - 7 hours of sleep .. yesterday i fell asleep at 7AM and woke up at 1PM and now its 11:50PM and i feel kind of sleepy smile

Yeah the doctor said some ssri's can bring out a condition and called it rebound insomia. I take the zolof at 8am and it knocks me out for a few hours. I go to bed around 12 midnight no TV on or anything and I'm wide awake all night . They also think I might be drug sensitive because when I was on 50mg . I had weak muscles my legs would twitch. I landed in emerge and they dropped the dose to 25mg thinking it could be serilitaone syndrome because my heart rate was fast but I did not feel it and my blood pressure was low .

I got up to 200mg of zoloft and don't remember any insomnia. Got a bit sweaty though at night and that was annoying. Do you take it in the morning or evening? Taking in the morning will have less of an effect on sleep.

I take it every morning at 8am . The pharmist even doesn't understand why I am having insomnia. I was on xanax before for like 10 years and no SSRI and it knocked me out at night . Always had problems sleeping but nothing like this . I find when I take the zolof in the morning it knocks me out from 8 till 12 pm then I take a nap around 4 and wake at 7 . Then I'm wide awake all night long and I still get the sweats the odd night .
