Instability when walking

Posted , 14 users are following.

PMR  diagnosed  1 year 9 months.

Actually was on 1 mg for months, then had flare up, which I blame on stress.

Am currently on 3, using  A  modified version of Eileen's method.

i have noticed since the diagnosis, that I am not as stable on my feet, which is more prevalent after reductions.

I don't have pain..... Just a little less motivated and a bit more tired.

Does anyone recognize this symptom, or is it something from another one of my medical challenges?

Happy Holidays to all, and a Healthy, New year.

I occasionally notice a little wobble when I stand up to walk, as though a leg is about to give way.  I guess that would count as a balance problem?

I have that wobble too...I fall slightly to the side, and often get told...take more water with it!...I wish...haven`t had alcohol for nearly 30 years....and don`t miss it....have my two squares of dark chocolate  in the evening..that`s my treat......

Hello barb, yes this is Definately a symptom I suffer from to. For the first 2 weeks following a reduction I am very exhausted, then my body must get use to the new lower dose and I perk up and am back to my normal cheery self. Regards, tina

      Hi Tina,

      thanks for your response.

Iclearly would be totally lost, without all of you wonderful people. You experience the difficultys of the disease, and are willing to share, without hesitation, no matter the problem.

unfortunately, the doctors, don't have the experience, and rarely, share info, because it is not info. That is 'scientifically proven'

      isaw my Rheumatologist, this week.

      my list of questions included:

      1. Instability

      2. Bladder urgency

      3. Retention of fluid

4.poor sleep ( I do have restless leg, but it is now exacerbated)

      5.hair loss

He was only willing to own up to hair loss as a symptom.

the rest is a result of aging or some other affliction. Thank you all.

P S. EILEEN, it sounds like you live in a winter wonderland.

i would love to see pictures.

Am hoping to be in British Isles, in May.......no snow, of course, but a most lovely part of the world.

So today, for the first time this year, we have no sunshine down here - just thick yukky fog! It's cold and damp - while up on the mountain at 2000m it is +4C and sunshine! Ah well! To see where I live search "Kronplatz ski" and you'll get links to the website which has pictures of the area in both summer and winter and webcams at present.

You know - few people complain about hair loss with PMR. Until they go onto pred. Honestly...

Where do you live Barb? In May I should be in Canada! And again in July, as well as in Chicago. Both times for meetings but in July with a holiday tacked on - unless somene can find a reason to send my husband to the Vancouver area in May as well!
