Insulin absorption issues

So I have noticed over the past two months that there will be a few days at a time when my blood sugar is consistently high no matter what I do. I can be eating low or no carbs and take a small amount of insulin and it remains high. Even when I go to make a correction it still does nothing. Is there an absorption issue that may be present? Do I need a new brand of Insulin? I am a type one diabetic and have been living with the disease for 12 years. I currently use the Novolog flex pen and have not had these issues before. Any help or suggestions much appreciated.

If the "consistently high" is over 200 you should consult your doctor immediately.

Even type1 diabetics can have burst of glycogen release from the liver, this might be triggered by foods (not carbs but other things) or exercise. I presume type1 diabetics would simply adjust with more insulin. I'm a type2 myself and used insulin only briefly so don't have a lot of direct experience with it.
