I messed up my post and could not edit it, my iPad posted it before I could correct it. My doctor just went through the routine process without detailing to my needs , so a month's supply is over $200 out of pocket. I am angry that insurance covers Viagra and Cialis, etc without question, whereas put women through hardships when it concerns health issues unique to women. Most health policy makers are men and have no awareness of what women experiences due to their sex alone, whether it is sexual harassment , being infantilized, objectified, controlled.

    Hello Fiameta

Are there other HRT medications covered by insurance?  I am impressed that you are still on HRT at 75. I intend to be as well.  I had my six-monthly appointment with specialist gynaecologist yesterday and he raised the issue of coming off HRT.  I had a total hysterectomy in May and have been really well.  I really want to stay on HRT forever.  I want to keep good relationship with gynae as in other ways he has been great.  My previous gynae retired four years ago.  He was very positive about HRT. My GP is ok about it.  I just want to maintain good relationship with gynae so that he doesn't stop prescribing Estrofem.  He acknowledges that I'm on the smallest dose.  Reading all the stories on this site makes me even more determined to stay on it.  I wonder what would have happened post hysterectomy if I'd suddenly stopped the HRT.  Doesn't bear thinking about!

    Cheers Lyn
