Intense stomach pain and anxiety

I didn’t sleep at all last night due to anxiety and stress keeping me awake. Ever since 6am, after I ate, I have had very intense stomach pains, but I do not feel sick or unwell, it’s just pain. I’m thinking this is visceral hypersensitivity (basically you feel stomach sensations more intensely than other people, even digestion can cause you pain) due to 8 years struggling with anxiety. I also know I have IBS and usually hypersensitivity and IBS are linked. *i have been to the doctor more times than I can count. He said the pain was just my anxiety*

I just want to know if anyone else deals with this? I can’t go a single day without stomach pain, and some days (like today) the pain is so bad, I can’t think about anything else and I start having panic attacks and uncontrollable anxiety that is draining me. It also helps to note I have emetophobia (the phobia of vomiting) so I have sensitivity to stomach pain.

Has anyone else gone through this before? What was causing your pain? How did you cope?

I don't what it is hopefully your pain goes away. I didn't know IBS caused intense stomach pain. Maybe get a second opinion by another doctor. They can further run some further tests to check your stomach in case your doctor missed something. Take Care💕

I have read that IBS can cause hypersensitivity to the way your stomach feels which would mean I feel it stronger than others would, but I have no idea! Hahaha

But yes, I think I will do that! I was planning on going to the hospital today, but I had a panic attack that prevented me from going, however I think getting a second opinion would beneficial.

      Thank you for responding!! ❤️

    Hi There,

Even though it maybe anxiety has your doctor ordered an endoscopy to see what's going onat the top of your intestines ? There would be many conditions causing what you have described from ulcers right down to cysts or fatty tumours.

Our bodies first response when we feel " not right" is some anxiety, that's natural, but before anxiety can be completely diagnosed other test must be performed to exclude or conclude diagnosis. Sorry I can't be of much more help and hope you find the answers you are looking for even if it is just anxiety related. suggested reading on anxiety, written by a doctor that use to suffer from it, she wrote a series of  self help books, her name is Dr Claire Weekes, I believe they are still available and quite often reprinted. Followher instructions and you will be on the road to recovery.
