Intensely itchy rash on skin

I have this rash on my skin which is intensely itchy and when I start scratching, I just cannot stop. It appears as a dark red patch currently around my groin area but I had similar itchy rash a couple of weeks ago on my neck and legs and it used to itch badly. They went away on their own in some weeks. Now I have it around my groin area. I have added some photos to show how it looks.

I haven't yet seen a GP or dermat for this. Any thoughts on what this might be and what can help to treat it?

    I think it would be best for you to see your gp.

    Eumovate really helped me with the eczema patches on my arms etc and Elidel has been absolutely life changing for my face. It has totally eradicated it.
