Intermediate monofocal IOL in both eyes?

I am scheduled for my second cataract surgery, this time on my right, dominant eye. In my left eye, I got a monofocal lens set for intermediate vision and I am pleased with it. I can see well enough to see my computer screen, smartphone screen, food label, etc., and my distance vision is only somewhat blurry. I was going to get mini monovision with the right eye set for distance, but now I am doubting that decision and wondering if I should just get another intermediate lens in the right eye. I am fine wearing distance glasses, and I am the type of person that is easily driven nuts by something that bothers me. I don't see discussions about intermediate vision IOLs in both eyes so I would appreciate hearing from anyone who has had that done.

I'm fairly new to all this, but I can't imagine what possible benefit there would be for both set to intermediate. you would need glasses for near and distance.
leaving you with very limited mid range vision. I went for mono vision, dominant distance, other intermediate. please do some more research and maybe find another surgeon.

It is rare, but everyone is unique and in the end you have to decide what vision you use the most. I have read one other person post here that did a similar thing. Apparently activities such as knitting and other intermediate activities was their focus.

well, good to know. so maybe it works for you. still recommended to do more research. I suppose if you close the unoperated eye, what you see should've give you a pretty good idea of where you will end up.
maybe test a distance contact lens to see how you like that.
for me, looking through my intermediate set eye only, everything is blurry past about 3 feet. I would need glasses just to walk around. I would never choose that, I am very satisfied with the mono vision I now have. your mileage may vary

I am simulating monovision with a distance IOL in one eye, and a contact in my currently non operated eye. I like it, except possibly for extended driving especially at night. For that I wear glasses to get the best possible vision. 95% of the time I don't wear glasses at all.
