Intermittent crinkly sound in left ear

Posted , 1 user is following.

For 4 months I’ve had an on-going, intermittent crinkle sound in my left ear when I move my jaw. After ruling out inner ear infection, allergies, blocked eustachian, I finally went to my PCP. I wasn’t experiencing the crinkle sound at the time of the visit. The exam showed no problems but noted hairy middle ears. Several days later, there it was again. I purchased a digital otoscope and watched inside as I moved my jaw. There it was a long hair rubbing against my eardrum. Now I have to figure out how to get rid of it without paying for a high-priced ENT haircut. Any suggestions?
