Internal haemorrhoids -questions!!

Posted , 6 users are following.

I had a digital rectal exam and anoscopy in September and was told I have some "small" haemorrhoids. They are not visible in the mirror unless I bear down, then some puffy tissue is visible. They do not bleed or hurt, but it feels like something is always stuck in my anus/rectum! I also have a tingling, crawling sensation a lot. It's also a bit uncomfortable to fart and it even sounds different. I also get some small spasms/twitches in the muscles nearby. Has anyone else experienced these things? I'm stressed out and this is starting to be all consuming. I would have thought with small piles that they would go away, but it has been several months and if anything, they seem slightly worse. I try not to strain with BM, but sometimes I have to just a little to get started! I really want to solve this before it gets out of hand. Any advice would be much appreciated!

This is exactly how I feel! I suspect internal hemms and have this exact same sensation. It is extremely annoying!

Hi Kate, I get the same tingling, crawling sensation & have internal hemorrhoids which are in the process of being banded. Irritability is known as pruitus ani, caused by mucous, which is normal, irritating the hemorrhoids. It helps to shower after emptying your bowels, don't use soap, & dab area with baby wipes then dry toilet tissue. Always good to mention to GP via telephone consult to syart with. Hope this helps.

Thank you for your response. I'm glad to hear the tingling sensation is not just me, as I find it quite distressing. I thought they were under control for a bit, but unfortunately around Christmas I got just the slightest bit constipated, strained during a bowel movement, and I seem to be right back where I started. I do wipe with TP, so I'll try your suggestions. I was trying to get rid of them myself, but I may need to go back to the GI doctor and see what's next because this has gone on for months.

Your most welcome Kate. I forgot to mention when you empty your bowels, place your feet on a small step. We should be in a squatting position when we defecate as this takes the strain off the pelvic floor muscle that wraps around the anus. Breathe as if you a blowing on hot drink, or say the word Mooooge under your breath. This will encourage you to use the correct muscles to defecate. Hope you are feeling a bit better.

I have the same thing. A feeling something is in there like rocks, tingling, burning, itchy feelings. Like worms crawling. No bleeding. I've had them my whole life but the past couple years has been the worst. The pain gets so bad some days I can't function. I was supposed to have the CRH O'Regan banding but the dr said mine weren't bad enough and talked me out if it. I'm going to another Dr that does it in a couple weeks. I have tried everything and nothing works. I think it started when I started a weight lifting class for exercise. It wasn't crazy weights either. Very frustrating

Hello Kate. Did you ever get to the bottom of this?

I'm having the exact same troubles. For the last 5 months after a few weeks of straining I've been left with a tingling/something stuck sensation that comes and goes throughout each day. It's really frustrating.

Had a colorectal specialist diagnose me with 'minor' internal hemorrhoids with a scope. Did you get banding or anything?
