Hi, I am new to this. I haven't had a proper diagnoses yet. I ended up in hospital last Thursday with suspected angina. After many tests the consultant said he thinks I have M.E and is sending me back to rheumatolagy .I was there four years ago with same problem but they didn't really tell me what was going on. Since then I have lived with my symptoms on and off over the past four years. I had a "flair up "this last six weeks which led me to gp sending me to A and E, as well as the pains and the absolute fatigue I have jelly legs does anyone else have this? Its as if my legs don't work properly they go really week and like as if they're struggling to hold me up lol.

Oh God you have got a lot going on... No I don't have depression either I just get a bit flat when I have a flair up as it does get me down sometimes. And as you have described your head I also get a lot of neck pain and feels like I have to hold my head up with my hands or a cushion .

I must ask, Jackie.  Have you noticed any vision problems?  Blurring?  If so, ask your doctor to check you for multiple sclerosis.  The fatigue, jelly legs, and flairs are symptomatic and if your doctor hasn't ruled out MS, be sure he/she does.  My sister had all the symptoms you have listed early with her MS.  I don't intend to worry you needlessly, but I know from my sister's experience that the symptoms are close.

Hi Phyllis, I was diagnosed 4 years ago with MS, Fibro/ME, although my neurologist thinks I've had MS for 20+ years. I've got to admit that I have or have had all the symptoms like your sister, especially blurry vision, although after numerous different types of eye tests I'm told my eyes are healthy, luckily. I have lots of leg & hip, knees & muscle aches every day.I sometimes feel like there are tight bands around my knees/hips. I try to pace myself as I still work full time but luckily I'm self employed try to rest as much as possible. I just want to say to Jackie though that MS symptoms are similar to ME & I had to have an MRI for diagnosis. Good luck with your diagnosis & try not to worry.

Did you have that test where they take some of the spinal fluid to test?  Maybe that isn't done any longer, but that is the test that finalized my sister's diagnosis.  Maybe the MRI can show the brain and back plaque that is an MS symptom, but I guess that is true with ME/CFS as well. Maybe the plaque buildup is different with ME/CFS. I asked about your eyes because that is often the first MS symptom. But,  I admit my knowledge is dated.

Thank you both. I do get a bit of blurred vision but I think thats just my eyes I went for am eye test last week as it happens and my vision isn't brilliant but as I don't drive they didn't feel the need to give me glasses only for every day just reading glasses. I also had a mri a few months ago but that wap for something different. I lost my sense of smell completely two years ago they were investigating that but came back with nothing, said it probably happened when I had a virus and it damaged a nerve?. My other main symptom is breathlessness but I have had my heart checked last week and thats fine so I don't know if thats a symptom of me/cfs?.thank you both for your advise I am waiting for my appointment with rhumatoligy will mention it to them x
