Iol gave me double vision so had to exchange lens

Posted , 4 users are following.

I had both eyes implanted with oculentis 5 weeks ago and after putting my life on hold from seeing double I had my right eye exchanged for the symfony Toric yesterday. Today very blurry and pupil still dilated so unsure how it will go but I am remaining optimistic and pray I never see double again. I hope to share positive reviews over the coming weeks. Any encouraging experiences  would be great

What was the explanation by the doctor for you seeing double? It was probably more due to the prescription of the lenses or some other factor other than the basic lens design? Changing a lens seems to be a drastic "try something different and hope for the best" step!

In any case, hope that everything works out for you.

After doing my own extensive research and a multitude of additional eye tests (and trusting my surgeon) I realized that the double vision was not a neural adaption process for me and it's rare but the make up of the first lens I had was not suited to my axis due to the horizontal split in the focus points. The new lens has the exact same script but a circular axis.  I don't think it's "drastic" to exchange a lens, there are no guarantees that all lenses will work the same for everyone!

Am curious about the Oculentis lens which had been installed in your eyes. It does not seem to be their Standard lens, which I had assumed. Was it their extended focus lens, Lentis Comfort, or one of their multifocal lenses?

Forgot to mention that refractive vision with first lens was better than 20/20 both near and far but double vision was more than unbearable

Wishing you all the best.  Yes can take a few days for blurring to clear.  Mi e cleared with 24 hours of having the Symfony lens but mine was t a lens e change so perhaps that takes a bit longer for swelling to go down.  Keep with the schedule for your drops and all should be well.

Good luck - will be interested in the outcome.  I have Symfony lenses in both eyes done 6 weeks apart.  I could see well with 24 hours.  But everyone is different and I was informed that it could take a few days for blurring tongo away.
