iron dificiency and visual disturbances?

I have heard that anemia or low iron can cause visual disturbances. I'm currently waiting results for anemia, and do suffer from flashes and visual snow. wondering if anyone has experience with this kind of thing, if so did raising your iron level help with visual symptoms and how long did it take?

thanks guys

Well, it's not to do with iron as such (so I hope this might still be helpful for you), but some years ago I found that I was startng to get issues with reading or concentrating on something close up where I'd get headaches and my vision started to get a bit blurry. I was given glasses, and using them did help a bit, but the thing that cured it was cod liver oil pills (I wasn't a vegetarian back then). I started taking them for other reasons, but I found that after a few weeks my vision had cleared and I didn't get the headaches anymore.

I had anaemia but did not have eye problems. I had iron tablets and a blood transfusion and was rather upset that I did not get the high, whoopee effect I was hoping for, so I probably will not bother to become a vampire. Oh well.
