Iron supplements and safety.

HI

Perhaps some of you know about Iron as a supplement. My ferriin levels are 60-100. Im a 33 year old man. My iron levels are upper normal.

I took a iron supplement and it really slowed my pulse down. My heart was beating less hard. This is sometimes the case in POTS I think. But I also got an arythmia which might have been serious(dangerous). Can iron cause arythmia, since the internet says so, but only in high dosages? Anyone with experience?

    try stopping the supplements

when you have normal levels there is no reason for supplements especially those not prescribed by a doctor

try getting iron from foods that's your best way with no side effects

    good day

    i agree.

    a) stop the supplements

    b) don't take any supplements unless you speak to your doctor first.

let a blood test define whether or not you are lacking in some vitamin or mineral and let a doctor determine whether or not you need to take supplements, bearing in mind your current health and whatever other medications you are taking.

it is far far better to rely on eating a healthy balanced diet unless there is some medical reason why you need to supplement. (and again, doctor's involvement required.)
