Irregular heart beat

Posted , 4 users are following.

I had a DVT about 5 weeks ago. My blood pressure monitor has indicated on several occasions I have a irregular heart beat, the monitor is a validated one and same make as the GP surgery. I wrote to my GP informing him of this, my GP said irregular heart would not cause a DVT ? and monitors are prone to error ?

get a referral to heart specialist if you are worried , I had an irregular heart beat and now take a very low dose beta blocker , but I have had heart surgery . It is always worrying so for peace of mind get it looked at

There are a lot of "minor" arrhythmias which are considered pretty much harmless - though they may not feel that way when happening or lighting up your meter.

Whether an arrhythmia might cause a DVT, or a DVT cause an arrhythmias, probably depends on a bunch of things, and might happen independently.

My "benign" arrhythmia turned into full-blown cardiomyopathy very quickly. Change docs if you don't feel good about it.
