Irregular Heartbeat ( my new problem)

Posted , 3 users are following.

Since last year in December i have had two attacks of irregular heart beats. What i experience is a nightmare when they begin. The heart beats normally for 5 seconds, pauses and normal again after a huge thud. I feel like less oxygen is circulating in my body. The only time i feel a bit better is when i lie down a bit. My blood pressure goes up during these episodes and i dont know whether its the irregular heartbeats that cause HBP or vice versa. I am currently on 12.5mg carvedilol which eases the problem but the irregular beats are there but not that bad.

The other issue is when i worry much they get worse. Is there anyone experiencing this.

Cath i am on carvedilol 12.5mg. The slowing of the heartbeat slows the irregular beats n i feel better. How is warfarin n for how long have u used it n for what compilation. Is it a beta blocker.

Did your doctor say that you have Ectopic beats or atrial fibrillation?

When I asked how they tell the diference my GP said that ectopic beats have a thud.

Yes it's controlled AF but I have symptoms, they are doable but very frustrating at times

Derek here in africa few doctors kmow this compilation. He just carried out an ECG reading and told me my heart had only few irregular peaks (2 only) on the plotted graph n said nothing to worry about. But again i am wondering whether its the HBP that causes them or vice versa. Or maybe its anxiety that peaks the HBP.

It is a dilema for many of us (and our doctors) as to what causes our heart blips and BP increases.

Google indicates that Carvedilol seems to be drug for more serious conditions than yours.

I watched a Youtube video by Jonathon V Wright that indicated that there is less hypertension around the equator due to people having higher levels of vitamin D because of increased sunlight. Do you think that is so?

About the equator that could be true but calls for more research. My other hypothesis is that today we are exposed to different types of food produced via unsafe methods. This is causing our bodies and organs to operate differently n unnatural. Secondly today we have much stress than many years ago. The combination is a killer especially if no exercise is in place.

I always used to associate Africa with people walking.

Now on TV we see African markets selling Westernised foods and infant milk.

That's great news! Not so easy for me as they would have to remove my AV node!!! They not keen to do would be a last resort!! Getting close though might need to push for it

Well they gave me an ablation first, up from the groin up the artery to my heart to knock something out before f itting the pacemaker, is that the node you mean ?

A pacemaker is an electrical device planted under the skin to keep the heart beating regular.
