Irregular periods of my 18 year old daughter

Hi,
My 18 year old daughter is having irregular periods since the pandemic has started last year.
She misses her periods and it is about 45-50 days between 2 periods. She was not very regular before, but at least she was menstruating every month.
She will also take an important exam in June this year and she is preparing for it. She is having a stressful year and her eating and sleeping routine has changed a lot.
I'm really anxious for her irregular cycles. I would like to take her to a doctor but she doesn't want for the moment as she believes that this is normal in these crazy times. She is calmer than me:)
I would appreciate if you could let me know about your opinions and maybe some herbal suggestions?
Thanks!

Hi.
it could just be stress or weight gain they can effect how regular your period is or their are lots of other conditions that can effects your period.
i personally have Premature ovarian insufficiency basically i started menopause in my early 20 and now at 30 am post menopausal. My issues started when my period became irregular . i also noticed weight gain and hot flushes. i was diagnosed by 3 blood test to check my hormone level with a month in between test and all came with high levels of all hormones including FSH. FSH levels increases during preimenopause. i also had an internal ultrasound to check my ovaries. i am currently on HRT to replace the hormone my body needs.
I don't think herbal remedies will help in this situation. i think you and your daughter need to have a open and honest conversation about it. it could be she is to scary to go to a doctor. i know i was when all first started. its best to find out if its normal or not as it can have long term effects on fertility and some conditions need treatment.
Hope this helps
Rachel
