Irritated and itchy anus with tiny bright red blood on toilet paper. Unsure of diagnosis.

During the month of December I had gotten Diarrhoea about 3 times and when I came back to Uni in January I noticed my anus started feeling sore. I left it for a month and it went away on its own and I didn't notice any other problems until Late into April. I started feeling pain sometimes when passing gas and going toilet, there would also be tiny specks of bright red blood on my toilet paper when I wiped. I visited my GP in May and he said there was an anal fissure and gave me Rectogesic to use for 4 weeks. While that helped the pain slightly, after the 4 weeks it still felt sore and there would still be blood when I wipe sometimes. It got to the point where I looked at what was wrong with my anus and most of the skin there is red which explains why it feels sore. About a week ago I visited another doctor who gave me antibacterial cream that is supposed to stop the irritation but it doesn't feel or look like anything has changed after a week.
After 2 months and no doctor knowing what the problem is clearly I'm really annoyed and just want to know if any of the symptoms sound familiar to any other illness. I know the symptoms can also be related to hemorrhoids which the doctor I visited a week ago also mentioned it could be although I thought hemorrhoids don't normally don't last for 2 months.

Hi,
Usually anal fissure will heal on their own but if you are here on this website, you probably have a chronic one which is very hard to heal, I have had mine since beginning of April. I need to eat extremely well, no junk food, drink enough liquids etc... If I skip a day, I tear my anus again during a BM, there is blood and the pain is unbearable for hours. If you are just "sore" then you are lucky, usually the pain is very intense, during and after bowel movements that can last for hours, blood in the toilet and on the toilet paper.
I have an external fissure with a skin tag to the left and to the right. It probably goes internal but how deep, that I don't know. I am staying away from doctors because they suggested a colonoscopy, there is no way you are sticking anything in there. I have the nitro cream.
For now, use the cream, sitz bath (sitting in warm/hot water) 2-3 times a day for 5-10 minutes. Take note of what you eat that makes the pain horrible the next day when you poop.

Thanks for taking time out of your day to reply, sorry for what you're going through and I hope your fissure heals soon too. My uni GP told me that if the rectogesic didn't help after 4 weeks that I should come back as it could be bad, which would probably mean it's a chronic fissure and he would schedule another appointment which he never did and now I'm not at Uni until October anyway so it would take a while to travel back there. I'll try taking sitz baths to see if it relieves the pain.
